Can two stoke bikes seize will riding them?
I have been doing motocross for years now and always made sure that I put the correct oil mixture in the fuel to avoid the crankshaft from seizing. But I was look at two stoke bikes for the road and I have noticed that they are all fuel injected two stoke systems what happens if you are doing 100kmh and the oil injector stops working and the engines becomes seized and the rear wheel locks. Has any one else thought of this i have heard some racers have died as the injector system failed when they were racing and they were thrown off there bike.
Im just worried about buying a two stroke 125 Aprilia bike now if it could seize will im riding it don’t tell me if its serviced and checked often these things happen.

I had a two-stroke Yamaha seize on me (I forgot to hook the oil injection line back up after a rebuild) and when it seized, I simply pulled the clutch lever in before I lost control. However, I was going in a straight line, I doubt if your engine seized on a corner you would be able to disengage the clutch fast enough to avoid a spill.
The best way to avoid a normally operating two-stroke from seizing is to vary your speed and throttle opening frequently. Apparently, running at a constant speed and throttle will cause hot spots to develop in your cylinder and piston, making some of the metal melt a bit, which is what causes a two-stroke street bike to seize. As you vary speed and throttle, the hot spots will move around and cool off, helping to keep the parts of your engine cool enough so as not to begin to melt.
