why does my bmx bike chain tighten and loosen as the pedals rotate?
it tightens and loosens i pedal and makes it harder to pedal sometimes.
Sounds like your chain tension is too high. Despite their appearance of being round, I don’t think there is a truly *round* chainring (sprocket) on earth. If your chain is too tight, when you rotate the cranks you’ll feel the high spots on the chainring. This will wear out your parts faster and can sometimes even cause the chain to drop. Slide the axle forward just a bit or adjust your tensioners a half turn at a time until you lose that feeling in the chain.
