Bike Gear Ratios Explained

bike gear ratios explained
what is riding with a full throttle and what are gear ratios?

please explain this with respect to Motor Bikes

Riding full throttle just means riding wide open, as fast as the bike will go. The article below will explain gear ratios… Gear ratios work the same on cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc. In regard to dirt bikes you generally have close ratio and wide ratio transmissions. On a close ratio tranny there is less difference between say 1st and 2nd (or any other gears for that matter) than there would be on a wide ratio transmission. Motocross bikes use a close ratio transmission and woods/trail bikes use wide ratio. On road bikes, sport/super bikes will have a closer ratio transmission than say a cruiser. The closer the gears the less the rpm’s will drop when shifting from one gear to the next, therefor making the bike accelerate quicker.
