Malaguti F10 Jet Line 50cc scooter?
I have just agreed to buy my son a 1998/9 Malaguti F10 Jet Line 50cc scooter.
It’s really clean, has good tyres front and rear.
It’s Taxed and Mot’d.
It’s done about 5000 miles.
everything appears to work ok
It has got both mirrors still intact (unlike some of other scooters we have looked at)
It comes with crash helmet, wet weather gear and a Thatcham approve lock and chain.
It appears to have been well looked after.
I have taken it for a test ride and it started immediately and stops straight.
I managed to get it up to about 40 mph but i imagine it will go faster.
Have you ever owned/ridden a Malaguti F10 Jet Line 50cc scooter?
Do you know of any problems these bikes suffer?
Do you think it’s worth £450?
I know you can buy a brand new scooter (not sure what make)from india/china for about £500 on ebay but I have heard they break easily and the warrany only covers parts.
Yeah, It is true you can buy a brand new scooter for that money..
But for the love of god, DON’T!
Malaguti is a well respected italian manufacturer that, from my experience, produce high quality and quite appealing little bikes!
Sounds to me you are getting a good deal, At least you are paying for quality and you wont have to spend anything getting it MOT’ed. Parts should be a doddle, if not eBay, do a quick google search and you should be well away.. places like adrenalin-pedstop etc. Your local bike shop should be able to order them in if it comes to it..
Overall, I dont think you can go far wrong with, seems to have good reviews on then net so..
One thing though, it is only a 50cc 2-stroke, so considering it is 8/9/10 years, it could probably do with some TLC as it has most probably been de-restricted (speedos lie anyway so cant be too sure) It may run absolutely sweet, but you could consider you and your so, giving it a service, (new plug, air filter, you know what i mean) or maybe even a top-end re-build help your son learn while he rides!
