Be Seen! a Guide to Rockstar Status
It’s always sweet to sneak a little huck session into your day, but sometimes the best part about it is bragging to your friends that can’t go with you because of school, desk, kids or some other lame excuse. The best way to really stick it to’em is get it all on film.
What you need: A camera that shoots in web friendly format, MP4 is the best. Canon, Sanyo, and Samsung all have exactly what your looking for with mixed reviews on all models. Price ranges from three bills up to eight, but don’t think that you need to buck up at the register for the best footage.
Getting the money shot:
• Quintin Tarantino says that you should film across steep terrain for that larger than life feel. It makes the huck look bigger than filming up or downslope.
• Keep your subject in the sun. Or should I say stay in the sun when getting filmed.
• Make sure to shoot close-ups and shoot from many different angles.
Editing your antics: With the popularity of watching video while pretending to work these days, the price of editing software is about as much as a good block of race wax. For PC’s I’d look at Ulead’s VideoStudio 10 or Adobe’s Premiere Elements 3.0. Macs come with a decent video editor right out of the box.
Becoming Uberfamous overnite: Soon the in crowd will upload their footage directly to www.pharmphresh.com and then email the link to everybody they know with the subject line: “Betcha wish your boyfriend could fly like me.” We’re still working out the kinks on this. Until then, you’ll have to follow the masses to YouTube. If you’re going for UltraUber status you can even publish your vid to iTunes using a hosting site like libsyn.com. BTW libsyn ROCKS, just ask a Ninja.
