Bike Wheel Lock
Someone has stolen the front and back of my bike. Should I buy new wheels or new bike?
(Replacement of the conference on the block). I have a 2006 Schwinn Varsity (Walmart). Retail is $ 199. Could buy new wheelset and cassette local bike shop for the same, $ 200 (though probably better quality) Or you could buy a new bike. If you buy the wheels / cassette, What should I look into the tray (ie any work on cassette for my bike)?
Here's an alternative. Look for a bicycle from the yard sales, flea markets, pawn shops, or eBay which is the size of wheels you need. Since I do not care what the state of the rest of the bike is in, you may be able to find something for as little as $ 10.20. Almost any front wheel size is going to do. At most you may need new wheel bearings or a quick release shaft. The back is a bit more complicated, but if you are lucky you might find a wheel / center / cassette combo that perfect fit. If not, they can be replaced for much less than the cost of a game wheel again. Just make sure your "new" set of wheels mounted and polished by a professional.
