Please help me choose the right bike for NYC riding…?
Thanks in advance! I am looking to buy a bike. I live in NYC. It will be used almost entirely on streets, with some occasional dirt roads and I will use it year round. I am leaning toward a hybrid, but have heard some recommendations to buy a road bike instead. I do not ride a lot, but would like to be comfortable when I do. My price range is $400-$700.
Please let me know if you recommend a bike listed below, or if there is a good bike not listed I would love to know about it. THANKS!!!

If you are going off road at all, stay clear of pure road bikes. There are simply not designed for it. Possibly a regular Hybrid or a performance hybrid with more aggressive tires for off road trails. Once into your better class of bikes, it’s all about fit & feel. Which one “feels” right to you? All I can tell you is I love my Raleigh hybrid. I do sorta like that Raleigh Misceo 1.0 because it has a cassette hub (rear gears) and not a freewheel hub. Also has double walled rims. BOMB PROOF!
