What is the best kind of tire to buy a bike in town?
I want to buy some parts for my bike. I have these tires stock which gradually deflate over time and the tire feels like cheap material. I think I need more wheels because I am a pretty heavy set. What is the best wheel and tire to buy at a reasonable price?
Coincidence you ask this question now. I just had a blow out on my cyclocross bike makes two days and I'm looking for a new set of tires. I commute 25 miles round trip on roads filled with debris. For me the most important criteria is durability. In the two years I've been traveling on this route that I had two great blow outs and punctures 5. All the mishaps occurred with Bontrager tires on my bike action Richeys road or actions on my cyclocross bike. Since values replace tires on my road bike with Continental Gator Skins, I have not had a single puncture 12 months. However, I had a serious accident due to wet roads. It kept me off the bike for 3 months. I do not recommend crocodile skins moisture conditions. So Which brings me to my second criterion – good traction on wet roads difference. There seems to be one of opinion and / or made on the construction of a rain tire good. Some believe that the tread does not matter and others (manufacturers, mainly) say the tread is the difference. I'm still trying to resolve this. I, however, identify a tire that has good reviews on roadbikereview.com: Michelin Axial Carbon. It fits my criteria, but I'm having a heck of find time.
