Cheap Road Bike Wheelsets
how much are entry level, cheap, road bicycle wheel sets?
Am restoring a road bike, but don’t want to look like a newb at the bike shop! How much are budget wheelsets for a road bike?
I need both front and rear wheels and a single speed gear.
I’m in Australia
For a dependable, cheap and light wheelset, nothing beats the traditional 32 spoke or 28 spoke wheels laced with 3x or 2x pattern. If you can find a shop that can hand build you a wheelset, that would be the most ideal if they are reputable.
Since its a singlespeed, there have special hubs that does not have a cassette, these are much stronger than the typical geared bikes which must accommodate space for the cassette.
