NOTE explain very simple as possible. I'm stupid to understand the details hard. THANKS

First, let's talk about the front. The front gears are called chain rings. If you have two, has a double. If you have three, has a triple. The size of the chain rings specified by the number of teeth on the gear. The two most common configuration is the largest has 52 teeth and the small sprocket is 39. In making the biggest big team, you get more speed and less power. This is good to go downhill. By making small progress smaller, you get more power and less speed. That's good for climbing hills. TRIPLE most common configuration is the large gear has 52 teeth, central gear has 39 teeth, and the smaller gear has 30 teeth. DOUBLE COMPACT reduces the size of both rings of the chain to increase the power with a small decrease in speed. The compact configuration is the most common DOUBLE large gear has 50 teeth and small gear has 34 teeth. Manufacturers claim COMPACT DOUBLE that eliminates the need for a triple. Not everyone agreed with them. Then we'll talk back. The back has a cluster gear called teeth. The set of teeth is called a cassette. When numbers are given, which are the size of the smaller gear and larger cassette. Thus, in a 12-25 the smallest cog has 12 teeth and the largest has 25 teeth. To make the smallest smaller gear, you get more speed and less power. To make as big cog, you get more power and less speed. Most manufacturers make double, and triple COMPACT, but not through of its product line. All manufacturers make a variety of tapes. My road bike has a 52-39-30 triple and a tape from 12 to 27, just to give you a reference point. HTH
