Downhill Bike Shoes

downhill bike shoes
bicycle pedals question?

i have a road bike with cage pedals
i hate them

i want to but some regular platform pedals that i can use with any shoe
but i mostly wear a pair of puma’s with no grip on the bottom

what pedals would you recommend for me that are in a reasonable price range

i like the look of downhill and freeride pedals
so just send links with price and ill vote you for best answer

Start by just taking the cages off your current pedals. Costs nothing and easy enough to undo if you change your mind later. If you really want new pedals, I went to my local bike shop and bought a pair of ordinary platform pedals for about $15. They were aluminum pedals with reflectors and gripped ordinary athletic shoes quite adequately. If you don’t want cages then there really isn’t anything significant that differentiates one platform pedal from another.

When changing pedals, remember that the left pedal has a reverse thread. Also, put a dab of grease on the threads before installing your new pedals.
