Trek 1400 (old model) good for a new driver?
I found a Trek 1400 (1991 model) around here for me and in pretty good shape with all the Shimano 105 parts. Do not know much about road bikes at all and only mountain bike I actually owned in the past (mostly All walks). My question is what do you think would be a fair price for assuming this bike is in very good shape. Also not included wheelset, so I'm sure it will lower the price a bit. A couple of other things, is like the Shimano 105 set? I know Shimano makes quality things but I do not know anything about this model. Finally, how I can get to pay for a decent entry-level wheelset new or used for this frame? Thanks for any / all help!
They are good bikes, just make sure that is the correct size. Control of eBay and Craig's List for the current price.
