what should i do about my favorite dirt bike…?
i race dirt bikes against grown men on 250s on my mini bike (kx-100) and i actually finish okay (it’s the c-class), but i know i could do a lot better on a bigger bike like a 125.
but my kx-100 recently blew up…the engine is destroyed, the crank case is cracked and leaks badly, and there’s 50 other little things that need to be fixed. the cost of the damages comes to about the amount i paid for the bike (used).
i need to know what to do, and i can’t race without a bike…so should i just fix my broken kx-100, or scrap my broken kx-100 and try to sell the parts on it that do work so i can buy another kx-100, or just get a 125?
the problem is kawasaki stopped making kx-100s as soon as the 4-stroke faze kicked it, so i’d have to buy one used which is risky cause a used one could be in bad shape…and also i’m really short and i can’t touch the ground on a 125 which is why i’m racing a mini bike in the first place…so what the heck should i do?
Stay with the two strokes, get a 125 because in your position they are cheaper. On ebay you can get a lowering kit, and blocks to stand on at gate. Once on the track you dont need to reach. Put you kx on craigslist, for parts. Say they will fit the kx85 or kx100.
