What type of back wheel should I get for a Trek Mountain Track 820?
My back wheel just got stolen. Stinks. Before I lug the freaking thing halfway across the city (without a car) to the bike store, I need to know what kind of back wheel I need. Maybe I can even buy it online. I can’t find any info about it online. Anyone know?
It would be a standard 26″ aluminum replacement mountain bike wheel. You don’t mention the age of the bike, but basically you’d have to know how many gears are on the right shift lever (it should say something like 1-7, etc). In addition to the wheel, you’ll also need to get a tire, tube, rim strip, and cassette. Your local bike shop should certainly be able to set you up without bringing the entire bike down, however the gears and brakes may need to be adjusted after you put the new wheel on.
