Renters Insurance Bike Theft

how long does it take for a renters insurance claim- due to theft?

My apartment was broken into and they took several things such as tv for $2500, child’s bike $80, dvd player $170, jewelery $3000, and bracket that is attached to the tv for $120. which total a little over $5000. How long do you think it will take to get my check from AllState. I will be moving out of that apartment sue to the theft amount in that area.

Usually two weeks or so, after they receive all the paperwork – including your receipts, the police report, and the proof of loss – unless there’s something really suspicious about your claim.

They’re going to pay based on depreciated value, until you actually replace the items. IF you have replacemetn cost coverage.

AND, unless you scheduled the jewelry seperately, there’s a theft limitation written into your policy.
