Road Bike Downhill
Why type of bike should I get?
Right now I only do 6 miles (about, I’d like to do more gradually) on a bike path, that is like 40-50% incline the rest is flat, very little downhill. But sometimes I go off the path onto dirt roads, rocks, and grass. I’m doing it for exercise purposes. I don’t always go very fast and I like comfort. Why type of bike is best?
Test ride an ELECTRA TOWNIE. You’ll be hooked. Google it and read a bunch of reviews. We bought 2 Townies and love them. The 6 speed model has a chain guard, so you don’t have to worry about your pants getting caught. The seat is super-confortable and you can put your feet on the ground when you stop without getting off the seat. Best of all, the handle bars are higher than mountain bikes, so you aren’t forever leaning forward and down. The ride is very comfortable and doesn’t tax you on longer rides.
