Bob Jogging Stroller
A Bob jogging stroller is certainly among the best made stroller brands. Bob (which stands for Beast of Burden) is one of the older stroller companies and their products are known for being well built and sturdy. Bob is an American company started by two guys out in California who were crazy about running and biking. The company now designs the official stroller for the famous Ironman-triathalon sporting event. If you are serious about fitness, or a Mom that wants a quality stroller, a Bob is hard to beat.
The outstanding features on every Bob jogging stroller are durability, great canopies, clever folding technology, and a smooth, straight ride. For the fashion conscious, they are attractively designed. Bob offers two-tone color schemes for many models (e.g. Chocolate with pink interior is a very popular option.) Bob strollers are the only jogging strollers on the market that come with a tracking mechanism. After heavy use, the front wheel on most strollers becomes misaligned making steering difficult. The tracking mechanism allows you to correct this by turning a small knob near the front wheel. This allows the stroller to track straight and true and prevents sudden swerving when you are running.
The Bob jogging stroller comes in many different fixed and swivel-versions.
The fixed wheel versions are specially designed for running and will stand up to the heavy pounding of training or marathon running. They feature light aluminium frames for easy pushing, adjustable suspension to control the smoothness of your ride, and a tracking adjustment to make the front wheel drive straight and true. The two most popular fixed wheel strollers are the Bob Ironman and the Bob SUS. The Ironman is arguably the most popular fixed wheel stroller for serious running or training on the road or smooth pavement. The SUS (sport utility stroller) has wide, knobby tires, which make it excellent for off-roading or trail hiking.
The swivel wheel versions are designed for everyday use in the malls or on the sidewalk. The Bob Revolution is the most popular swivel produced by Bob. In fact, we think it is the best swivel wheel value on the market today. The swivel comes with a lockout feature that allows you to lock the swivel wheel for straight tracking. The lockout feature is actually so good that you can actually jog or run with a Bob swivel wheel. (i.e. you get better tracking from a Bob Swivel than the fixed wheel versions of other brands!!)
Bob strollers are certainly rank as one of the top three brands for serious joggers. The other competitors that truly compete with Bob are Baby-Jogger, and Chariot Carriers. One thing that you won’t get on a Bob jogging stroller is a built in cup-holder. Of course you can buy a soft attachment that fits on to the handlebar – but is not good for coffee cups or hot liquids. Well, I guess you can’t have everything! But what you do get is a quality product that will outlast your toddler years! All things considered, strollers Bob makes are the way to go.
