Is this a good deal on a mountain bike?
$ 1000 to August 1 santa cruz super … basically new to the local bike shop Breckenridge, CO used to rent / demo for a while but it looks great. Tora front shocks, fox on the back. Pretty good components, disc brakes, etc. Does not include pedals. It seems the best deal and the value of something comparable. Is there a better bike for around this price? Everyone I've seen more than this bike.
That's a great …. IF …. the bike was not abused during their stay in the rental fleet. Breck has a lot of slopes that would not no real harm in cycling, but also has several areas that people could jump and fall. This is the danger of bicycle rentals, simply do not know what they have past and neither do the employees of the stores. If it looks pretty good, then it is likely to be. Send a careful examination, pressure on the frame and suspension pivots and hear any squeaking or creaking. The suspension must still be firm and steadfast. I think so, but if it were me, I'd call and check to Santa Cruz still will honor your warranty frame for a second bike rental fleet-owner. If not, I'll replace that with a discount if they should fail, but this is something I want to know beforehand. Great bike, though. The price would be getting less than what is usually sold under its own. If all goes well jump on me it (figuratively speaking). : O)
