Logic behind road bike tire tube sizes.?
Hello,
I’m trying to determine the logic behind ordering new road bike tire tubes.
I have a 22″ wheel/rim and my old tubes are stamped 700×18/25c. Would I be correct in understanding that this info means that I have a 700cm diameter tube that is able to fit an 18″ to a 25″ wheel/rim when inflated?
When ordering new tubes, instead of purchasing a 700×18/25c tube, would purchasing a 700×19/23 or a 700×18/23 size tube work just as well?

The break down goes like this,
700c (700mm) is the rim diameter.
18/25c (18/25mm) is the range of the tire the tube will fit.
Now with your two choices of 700×19/23 or a 700×18/23 tube the one you choose just needs to match fall into the size of the tire. If your tire is a 700×25 or larger the tubes listed are too small.
